President Rodrigo Duterte on Wednesday said he will urge Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte to run as a president, since he’s now ‘semi-retired’.
During his speech in Cagayan de Oro City, Duterte candidly said that he wants his daughter, Sara to run because he already promised Davaoeños that he will let her run the presidency.
He also reminded them to be extra careful with Sara due to her attitude.
“Semi-retired na ako except for the fact na I won,” Duterte said. “‘Di na ako pulitiko. So ang ipapalit si Inday (Sara),” Duterte said.
“Humanda kayo kasi… ‘yung ugali. ‘di ka palalampasin. Kita mo, natanggal niya si Alvarez, nandoon lang siya sa Davao?” he added.
Duterte brought up about the ouster of House Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez, as he said that it was planned by Sara.
He clarified that he did know about Sara’s plan about Alvarez.
“Pinlano niya, ‘di ko talaga alam,” Duterte said.
Duterte said he knew about it only after the ouster when a female friend relay a message to him from his daughter, saying she was sorry.
Also, Duterte said he has no plans anymore in politics because he’s already tired. For now, he was just paying gratitude to those who helped him since then.
“Pero ako pagod, pagod na ako.. This is my last and i will not tinker with politics anymore,” he said.
Meanwhile, All children of Presdent Duterte are running in local post. Sara Duterte as re-elect Mayor, Paolo Duterte will run for Davao City 1st District Representative, while Baste Duterte will run for vice mayor.
