Singer-Actress Lea Salonga made an impressive political view about the inflation rate of the country.
As it is one of the issue that the government been facing right now, Salonga was asked by the reporter about her thoughts on inflation and if she was also affected by it.
Salonga is celebrating her 40th anniversary of her career this year and she did a concert’s press conference last September 25 at the Peninsula Manila hotel in Makati.
Salonga known to be transparent of her thoughts about politics. There are times, she expressed on social media what she thinks.
During her interview, she said before we complain over that matter, we should think first if it was also happened during the previous administration and that’s the time we make our unbiased judgement.
“We are affected to the point where there are certain goods and services that we buy that are affected, I mean that I don’t like to see my electric bill go up, I don’t like it when the price of vegetables, I mean we buy locally grown produce and when you see price has changed, is it like ‘why?’” Salonga said.
“And then you wonder, you gotta wonder.. it is if we’re angry about this, we have to see if it’s happened in previous administrations before and if we got angry then too… And if it happened before and didn’t get angry then we might examine why that is,” she added.
(Translation: Magtataka ka, kung bakit galit tayo tungkol dito (Pagtaas ng Presyo). Dapat nating tingnan, kung ito ba (Pagtaas ng Presyo) ay nangyari na rin dati sa nakaraang administrasyon, at kung nagalit din ba tayo noon. At kung nangyari ito dati at hindi ka naman nagalit noon, kailangan mong suriin kung bakit ganoon.)
Salonga also said that she complained whenever her electricity bills goes up and vegetables prices increases.

She added, “I mean that I don’t like to see my electric bill go up, I don’t like it when the price of vegetables, I mean we buy locally grown produce and when you see price has changed, is it like ‘why?’”
Meanwhile, when Lea asked her thoughts about President Duterte. She tried her best to be honest and truthful to her words. She said their are things she agreed about Duterte and things that are didn’t, but that are things about life.
At some point, there are things we agreed upon and things we didn’t agree. Somehow, Salonga knows where to stand in her political opinion because she said she agreed when President Duterte appointed Bernadette Romulo-Puyat because she knows her well and even her family, same as well with the Singer-actress Aiza Seguerra.
“You can’t like everything and you never will,” she said.
“You can like some things and that is fine. That’s as diplomatic I can be about it,” said Salonga.
